How did you come up with the name?
When I came up with the name Dream Beyond Means, I was sitting at my work desk wondering if this is what I was going to be doing for the rest of my life: working for a Microsoft account under management and not being able to get an outrageous raise instead of minimum wage levels. I thought about life, my son, and how I would love for him to have everything. At this time I was exhausted from driving far to work and working long days and not getting my education in something I love doing. I would always create designs at work and coming up with names, but the thing is I always had a dream and I wasn’t doing much to achieving them. Then it snapped to me “Dream Beyond Means.” I wanted to Dream Beyond my Means in life, go above everything by achieving them. I wanted to be bold and a light in the world. I did not want to die and be forgotten, I wanted to Dream Beyond Means.

DBM is the pursuit of happiness and success. The brand is not filled with void, it is filled with light and positive feeds. The brand strives for originality, a mix between urban and Americana. For instance, a mix of a little Abercrombie or American Eagle and LRG, but at the same time being original and being DBM (Different).

My influence is every day’s culture, what is around us; the fight that every American and country’s strive for and is to be the best no matter what it takes. The creative music I listen to, the art I view and visualize.

What sets your brand different from others?
Well for one the brand’s name is powerful, it is motivational and also shows that through its products. This brand is eye catching, the originality, the unique things that you have to look out for on a design which makes you ask what is that? Or what does that mean but then at the same time it tells you exactly what means and what it is.

Are there any challenges you run into while running a business?
Every way there are changes, if there aren’t changes every day then the business isn’t building or moving as it should. We change the way we market, design, speak, and adjust to from our own individual ways to a more business aspect.

Any plans for the future with your clothing line?
We have a new Logo T-shirt that will be launched October 1st 2012 and business cards for our street team to market. Each month there will be a dope design release for the fall. We have wrist bands being made, buttons, book bags, and sticker’s water bottles. Almost any to makes us or break us.
